Woodward has world-class test facilities to characterize fuel mixing, ignition, and atomized liquid fuel spray droplet size, spray quality, and spray angle. At our combustion test facility we are able to test a wide range of fuel, air flow, and pressure conditions to simulate the combustor environment without running an expensive full rig test. Woodward’s expertise, combined with our test facilities, enable us to design and integrate components into combustion systems.

Industrial Turbine Gas Fuel Nozzles

Woodward provides heavy frame and aeroderivative gas turbine fuel nozzles for most gaseous fuels including:
• natural gas
• liquefied natural gas
• land fill gas
• syngas
Utilizing the latest test equipment allows for verification and validation prior to engine testing, thereby reducing product introduction cycle time and cost. Development testing allows for the quantification of gas fuel spray properties such as PIV, pressure testing, ignition testing, and a fully-functional, multi-cell combustion lab.
Our production test equipment including CMM, NDT, and FPI ensures we deliver product to our customers that is dimensionally correct, structurally sound, and meets the demanding functional requirement of today’s modern high-efficient, low-emission gas turbines.

Industrial Turbine Liquid Fuel Nozzles

Woodward provides heavy frame and aeroderivative turbine fuel nozzles for liquid fuel applications such as power generation and oil & gas industries.
Utilizing the latest test equipment allows for verification and validation prior to engine testing, thereby reducing product introduction cycle time and cost. Development testing allows for the quantification of liquid fuel spray properties such as Sauter Mean Diameter, spray angle, Patternation, cone angle, and dispersion.

Industrial Turbine Water Nozzles

Woodward provides multiple water nozzle platforms, including:
• Inter-compressor water injection
• Water wash
• Water injection for gas turbine applications
Performance of these nozzles is as critical as liquid fuel spray nozzles in order to provide proper mixing without erosion or poor operation.
