The droop control is such that the governor operates at a slower speed as engine load increases.

The UG product s are mechanical-hydraulic governors for controlling diesel, gas, or dual fuel engines, or steam turbines. The governor provides extremely reliable speed control throughout the drive speed and temperature range. This proven design has been the industry standard for many years and its worldwide acceptance provides easy service in most engine and governor shops.
UG governors (generally known as the "UG-8") are available in either a UG Dial or UG Lever configuration. Each model is available with any of three different work outputs:
UG-5.7: 7.1 N-m (5.2 lb-ft) / UG-8: 13.2 N-m (9.7 lb-ft) / UG-10:15.9 N-m (11.7 lb-ft).

UG-8 PL

Woodward's UG-8PL is a compensated, isochronous governor for use with diesel, gas, and dual-fuel engines or steam and industrial gas turbines driving pumps, compressors, alternators, generators, etc. The UG-8PL governor has an integral oil reservoir (sump) and oil pump and does not require an external oil supply for its operation. The governor also has both a spring-driven ballhead assembly and laminated-spring ballhead drive to help reduce undesirable torsion vibrations which may be transmitted to the governor.

UG-40-Governors

UG-40 Governors

UG-40 governors are used for speed or load control of dual-fuel, diesel, or gas engines or steam turbines with governor drive speeds of 350 to 1050 rpm or 550 to 1300 rpm. They are typically used to drive alternators, DC generators, pumps, compressors, or marine propellers.
Governors with lever speed setting are primarily used for propulsion engines. Dial or motor speed setting is primarily used for power-generation installations.

UG-MAS-Governors UG MAS Governors
The UG MAS speed setting system allows remote speed setting using a 4–20 mA current loop. This remote control of engine speed is especially useful in marine applications using milliamp signals instead of the more traditional pneumatic pressure signal.
The system consists of a UG-8 Dial governor with a special cover and a separate final driver. The cover of the UG-8 includes a stepper motor that is directly connected to the speeder screw in the UG-8 governor. On top of the stepper motor, the position of the motor is measured with a feedback potentiometer connected with a worm and gear.

3161-Governor 3161 Governor 
The 3161 governor is a mechanical-hydraulic device that senses speed to control dual fuel engines, diesel engines, or steam turbines. The variety of standard features and available options make the governor ideal for a wide variety of applications that require work capacity of up to 24 N-m (18 lb-ft). Applications include off-highway vehicles, industrial, marine, generator set, compressor, or pump drives.
3161 operation can be isochronous for accurate constant speed or frequency control, or droop for load sharing. The amount of droop may be changed internally or with an optional external lever.

EGB-family

EGB family of proportional electro-hydraulic actuators 

The mechanical governor backup capability of Woodward's EGB governor/actuators provides increased reliability and safety during the operation of dual-fuel and diesel engines or gas and steam turbines. 
During normal operation, the electronic control and actuator section of the EGB regulates fuel to the prime mover. Upon loss of electronic control signal, the standard EGB is adjusted to cause prime mover shutdown. An electronic, pneumatic, or manual starting device is then used to allow prime mover starting and operation under ballhead control.
EGB models cover work capacities ranging from 1-300 ft-lb (1.4-407 J). Choose the unit from the list below that suit your particular application.

EGB-1P and EGB-2P

The EGB-1P and EGB-2P, like all EGB products, are proportional electro-hydraulic actuators with a mechanical backup governor. As such, they are particularly well-suited to engines operating in tandem to drive a common load. When paired with Woodward's 2301 electronic control, a complete governing system is achievable.

PGG PGG
The PGG is a mechanical-hydraulic, pressure-compensated governor that can set speed or power output from a remote location. It combines a permanent-magnet, speed-setting motor for accurate remote speed adjustment with speed-droop adjustment and load-limit control features. Manual speed setting at the governor is also provided. Pressure-actuated or electric-solenoid shutdown is available, in addition to other PG auxiliary devices.

TG Governor

Woodward's TG Governors are self-contained, mechanical-hydraulic, speed droop governors for small steam turbines where isochronous (constant speed) operation is not required.
TG Governors are simplicitic and low cost, and they operate with speed droop for control stability. The output (terminal) shaft extends out both sides of the case, and the governor drive rotation can be in either direction.

TG611

TG611 Governor

TG611 Governors are API-611 compliant, self-contained, mechanical-hydraulic, speed-droop governors for use on small steam turbine driving pumps, compressors, or generators, where isochronous (constant speed) operation is not required. These governors are directly coupled to the steam-turbine's rotor or auxiliary shaft to sense and control turbine speed.
These governors are designed for API-611-based turbine applications, and include a special Overspeed Test Device, allowing controlled and safe turbine overspeed trip testing.

VariStroke VariStroke-I Electro-hydraulic Actuator
This proposal concerns the whole replacement of the current pilot valve assembly, cylinder, actuator and feedback linkage with one Woodward simplified system VariStroke-I.
The VariStroke-I is a linear electro-hydraulic actuator that is designed to provide the linear actuation force to operate steam turbine control valves or valve racks. It utilizes a double-acting power cylinder with integrated electronic driver module, servo valve and MLDT-based position feedback sensors.
